Chocolate Cichlid

Maxium Standard Length: 12 inches (30cm).

Water Conditions:

          Temperature: 77 – 86°F (25 – 30°C)

          pH: 5.0-8.0

          Hardness: 0-12°H

Diet: Live, frozen, and dried foods.

Behavior and Compatibility: Fairly peaceful and can be kept in a community of large fish in a large tank.

Maintenance:  Sandy bottom with large pieces of driftwood and smooth rocks. They don't really disturb plants and deliberately dig them up. They sometimes accidentally uproot them. For spawning place a piece of slate vertically up the side of the tank to create a spawning area.
